What Are You DOING?!?

I'd like to tell you all a brief story about myself and then I'd like you all to do me a small favor. Here goes:
I'm a smart, young man and rarely a week goes by without a college hounding after me. While I'm not interested in most, I learn something new from each of them. End of story.
Now, I want to all to follow this link: http://neumont.edu/admissions/parentsguide/neumont_difference.html
No, I mean actually do it, if you didn't. Check out that page and ESPECIALLY check out that pyramid graph. Study it well. Now apply it to yourself.
You want to be a better person than you are now, right?
You want to be able to write in your journal, "I had a perfect day, again."?
You want to be able to pray and ask for nothing, only pour out gratitude?
You want to actually live your dreams?
Do you?
Then what are you doing now? Right now? You're reading! Look back at that graph! Where is reading? Ten percent. TEN PERCENT! In investments, a ten percent chance of success is so bad we don't even have a name for them. Even junk bonds are more successful than that.
So reading doesn't look like it's going to work out for you, hmm? Then what should you be doing? Back to the graph:
#1 - Teach others. I highly suggest this method. It's what I'm doing right now and I'd say it's working out nicely. At the same time, this is probably one of the scariest things I've ever done. If you don't feel up to it, that's okay, because there's another great way to improve!
#2 - Practice by doing. How does this help? Well, if you've ever been in a sport, you'll remember going to practice every day. Why? Because it makes you better, that's why! I can promise you, the more and more you live AS the person you want to be, the more and more you will BECOME the person you want to be.
Here's your journal entry for tonight: what am I doing that is detrimental to my personal growth and what can I do to change?
Then do it. That's all you have to do. Maybe start small; give a friend some advice about improving his attitude. You can work your way up to where you want to be. It's all up to you.
